2. Attic Girl

The attic girl
Paints her stories on white walls
Says she doesn’t want to fall anymore
She throws stones in the water
Demolition of order
Chaos encircling pathos encircling
She,
Asks

What am I supposed to do?
What am I supposed to be?
Just how am I supposed to make sense of this complexity - That is me?

She is invoking help from the sky
Bargaining God, to rescue me, rescue me
On bended knee she’s begging you
Please, don’t forget me
Don’t regret me

Every time she tries
Like a broken winged old butterfly
She’s falling, falling, falling
From the sky,
Don’t forget me, don’t regret me
Don’t forget me, don’t regret me

The attic girl
Asleep in her attic world
And the shadows of nightfall

Adorning the slopes of her white walls
And she dreams of a garden
Where she stoops to unfasten
The shackles of buckles that tie her conventionally

She’ll be running, running, running
She’ll be running in these dreams
